Game Theory: According to Wikipedia, Game theory is "the study of mathematical models of conflict and cooperation between intelligent rational decision-makers. Game theory is mainly used in economics, political science, and psychology, as well as in logic and computer science. Originally, it addressed zero-sum games, in which one person's gains result in losses for the other participants. Today, game theory applies to a wide range of behavioral relations, and is now an umbrella term for the science of logical decision making in humans, animals, and computers....”
Make no mistake about it, personal financial decisions can be viewed as a crucial game in life with specific players most of whom know how to play and win the game. You are a player. Remember the board game of Monopoly™? Managing your money decisions can be like a board game. The game of people and money has 4 players too: Government, Financial institutions & corporations, Businesses providing consumer products and services, and the final player is YOU. Who do you suppose write the rules? Who puts most of the money on this board to play in your game? The other 3 players are not our ememies but can be seen as competitors. They try for as much of our money as possible on this very real board game in life. We all need each other to play but let's make legitimate rules for us to win!
Let’s just say you deserve a fair chance to win. Know the boundaries and rules that quite legally can help you win. Know the right tools to use and when. Get to really know the right people to call upon as team players. Have the opportunity to view hypothetical outcomes that could help you win the long game before you decide. And most importantly, minimize the erosion of your wealth by using the right money strategies.
How does your approach compare? Are you playing a somewhat unorganized game made up of ‘silo’ like decisions? A game with little or no coordination and integration to achieve less efficient and effective results? Do you wonder why you may not know such an approach & tools exist? You may have heard the cute phrase, “Man plans and god laughs”. Get beyond planning and be part of the New One Percent! Find yourself in the right position on your gameboard.
